Liège-Brescia-Liège 2028: May 24-June 5

Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the historic Liège-Brescia-Liège Rally - the only rally in the 20th Century run exclusively for cars under 500cc. Run by the Royal Motor Union of Liège, famous for events like Liège-Rome-Liège and Spa-Sofia-Liège, this "Little Liège" rally was run only once - but it condensed all the best passes of the bigger events into a shorter route of 3300km that in 1958 was run almost non-stop, over three nights and two days. It's incredible that half the tiny cars finished that original event, despite gruelling time schedules and mostly gravel roads in the mountains.

Today, we are able to relive the superb, original route in a fun, competitive tour format that is spread over 11 days, with a day off in beautiful Ljubljana, Slovenia (which was the site of a checkpoint in 1958). Roads are now all-tarmac and we drive manageable days of approx 200 miles. We stay at lovely hotels, carefully selected along the original route. A luggage van will be provided, with priority for the smallest-engined cars (sub-500cc).

For 2028, first priority will be given to cars of a type that could have competed in 1958 - early Fiat, Abarth and Autobianchi 500, Berkeley, Messerschmitt, FMR TG500, BMW Isetta, early Citroen 2CV (sub-500cc), UMAP, Zundapp Janus, Vespa 400, Frisky, Bond Minicar, Heinkel and more: these will form the AUTHENTIC category.
A second, SPIRIT category, will be for cars in the same spirit, up to 700cc of a type that was available by July 1968 - such as BMW 600 and 700, later Fiat 500 and early Fiat 600, Berkeley B95/105, Trabant, NSU Prinz, Steyr-Puch 650 and more.
And for the first time, if all places are not taken by the older, smaller, cars, we will include a third, Youngtimer category for later-introduced sub-700cc cars like Bond Bug and Japanese kei cars up to 2008.

WE strongly recommend getting entries in early for this event! Complete the form below to request the full brochure (specify which event you are interested in) or email us at classicrallypress (at) yahoo.co.uk
